Memorial Website to Barbara Katie Chapman

by Admin on July 26, 2007

Barbara Katie ChapmanI’m never really certain if these sort of things are real when it comes to looking at information on MySpace.com - whether or not it’s real, there is some really good information about Barbara Katie Chapman and her life with some photos that have been added by Baby Lyssa Chapman and a memorial written by Barbara Katie’s mother, Lyssa Chapman.

Barbara-Katie Chapman was tragically killed in a car accident on May 19, 2006 near Fairbanks. She would have been 24 years old on June 8. Daughter of Duane “Dog” Chapman and Lyssa Chapman. Sister to Baby Lyssa and Tucker. Proud mother of Travis Drake-Lee Mimms. Passed away May 19th, 2006 near Fairbanks, Alaska. Twenty-three years young. May she rest in peace. B-K’s nickname is Fairydust

It is heart-breaking to see someone die so young, with hopes and dreams… all gone in an instant. You can find out more information on the life of Barbara Katie Chapman at the MySpace Memorial Page.

Six Degrees of Dog the Bounty Hunter

by Admin on July 22, 2007

Now I think this sort of thing is pretty cool… the whole Six Degrees of seperation. Check this out over at Jeff’s blog on MySpace.

Ok, so my favorite TV show is, of course, Dog. It’s shot in Hawaii, etc. Anyway, I have a buddy stationed over there for the Army. His wife runs a shoe store……That Dog’s wife Beth was in on Tuesday night!!!! HOLY SHIT! I know somebody who knows Beth, who’s married to Dog. That makes me like, 2 degrees from Dog the Bounty Hunter! HOLY SHIT! THAT’S AWESOME!!! That means that because you all know me, you are 3 degress from Dog! I also think that Beth’s autograph has been sent my direction as well, which is BAD ASS!!!!

Ok, totally love that! Has anyone else out there had a close encounter of the “Dog the Bounty Hunter” kind like Jeff?

Bounty Hunters on Court TV

by Admin on July 17, 2007

Over at Stuck on the Palmetto, there’s word that Court TV is bringing it’s own reality show to the screen. Bounty Girls Miami is set to hit the TV next month and here’s what they have to say in their press release:

Court TV®’s new true-life series BOUNTY GIRLS MIAMI, features four tough, smart, beautiful and diverse women who take viewers on the hunt for Miami fugitives as they compete in the predominantly male world of bounty hunting. Premiering Thursday, August 9, at 9 p.m. (ET/PT), this one-hour, nine-episode series follows the elite team from Miami’s Sunshine State Bail Bonds Agency – one of the largest in Florida.

In each episode Jim Viola, who heads up the agency, gathers the team to assign a new case and explore its particular challenges. Jim oversees the operation as the group uses their skills to pin down the suspect’s location and search for the fugitive. With stakes high, Court TV®’s cameras go along for the ride with these trained experts and follow “the best in the business” as they go about their jobs with style and skill.

Bounty Girls Miami According to Stuck on the Palmetto there really is a Sushine State Bail Bonds. What made me laugh was when they mentioned,

“But call me cynical because I’m getting a distinct feeling that’s about as real as this show is going to get.”

Now I have no real idea how this show is going to work, I mean maybe they’re trying to glamourize the bail bonds job - being a bounty hunter and all that. But I’m curious to see how this show compares to Dog the Bounty Hunter.

The story continues about the women of Bounty Girls Miami. I don’t know what to think when I saw their “look” on this photo. I know you want to keep your femininity. Beth Smith Chapman does a great job of that (maybe a little too well!), but there is just something about these women. I can’t put my finger on it.

A quick recap of the women of Bounty Girls Miami:

The BOUNTY GIRLS are led by “Jag” with team members “Gloria”, “Clyde”, and “Jade”. A working mom and recovery specialist, Jag is an 18 year veteran ofthe Sunshine Bail Bonds Agency. She supervises nearly 60 people and has taken down more than 7,000 fugitives to date. Gloria has been withthe agency since she was 17 and is a crucial member of this unique team. An expert on computer and GPS systems, she is called upon to track and apprehend fugitives. Clyde, a trained US Marine with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, uses her skills to gather data and is known to conduct risky operations to getthe facts. Jade completes the team as a young, vibrant agent from New York who uses her taser and baton to pin down fugitives. Once they’ve got their man (or woman), it’s back to the office to await the next mission.

Man… I don’t know. When I read this I lose the sense that they’re off to catch fugitives and more on display because they’re women in the bail bonds industry… and Court TV is all over it.

What do you think?
