I just found this article from the To the Right website and they’re saying they’ve heard word from Fox News that Dog the Bounty Hunter has been awarded his freedom from an appellate court in Guadalajara, Mexico. Word comes from a close friend of U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo (who had been petitioning for Duane Dog Chapman).

Chapman was arrested and faced extradition to and a long prison term in Mexico after he captured Max Factor heir and convicted rapist Andrew Luster when no one else could or would. In his decision, the Mexican appellate-court judge ruled the anti-bounty-hunting law Dog was charged with violating had a statute of limitations that had lapsed, meaning Dog could not be prosecuted.

I’m so excited and want to celebrate now! I’m so happy that with the sticky situation that Dog, Leland and Tim have been in with the Mexican government and the laws that surround being a bounty hunter in that country - we know they did the right thing, but they broke Mexican law… what were they suppose to do.

Seems the statute of limitations saved the day.
