Ann Arbour news reports on Duane Chapman’s book signing, where hundreds of fans flooded into the Borders Bookstore for a chance to see and listen to, Duane Dog Chapman.
Remember Jackie and her close encounter with Dog!
Hundreds of people flooded the downtown Ann Arbor Borders Friday evening to get a look at Duane “Dog” Chapman - perhaps the world’s most famous bounty hunter. He was in town signing his book, “You Can Run But You Can’t Hide: The Life and Times of Dog the Bounty Hunter.”
His story of redemption is part of what has given him rock star status. That and a TV show - “Dog The Bounty Hunter” - on A&E.
At 6:30 p.m., people packed into a corner of the book store to get a glimpse of Chapman 30 minutes before the signing began.
Hundreds angled to get pictures of him, holding cell phones above their heads.
I can only imagine the chaos at that store… I’m jealous of those fans who actually got viewing of Duane! If you were there - did you get any photos? What did you think?

I’m not sure what to think of a site that’s called “The Crazy News”, but they’ve got an article on Duane Dog Chapman, and isn’t a bad read. I think this article/site will bring the Dog “haters” out… but you know, I think we need to see it all.
So read at your own digression - it’s a good article.

Borders has announced that Dog the Bounty Hunter’s book, “You can run but you can’t hide” has ranked at #2 on it’s national list! How cool is that!!!! KHNL has reported that Duane’s book is kicking the competition in the butt and I’m so happy for him.

… I’m not sure this is so super groovy for Duane, Leland and Tim. According to a report by the Washington Post it looks like Mexico is appealing the court decision that the statue of limitations had expired on the case against the three men.
A Mexican judge has ruled to close the criminal case against bounty hunter and TV reality star Duane “Dog” Chapman, but state prosecutors have appealed the decision, officials said Thursday.
In the July 27 ruling, Judge Jose Alberto Montes said the statute of limitations has expired on the case, said Guillermo Diaz, assistant prosecutor for the state of Jalisco, where Puerto Vallarta is located.
They go on to report:
State prosecutors, however, want to continue pursuing Mexico’s request to have Chapman extradited, Diaz said. The courts are expected to rule on prosecutors’ appeal in coming months.
What a freakin’ emotional rollercoaster these men are on. It’s not only them but their families. I can’t imagine the stress they’re going through. Duane and Beth both looked over the moon at the first results that the case was overturned. Man, I can’t imagine what’s going to happen next. Will Mexico drop it’s case?

Jackie posted on her MySpace site that she met Dog the Bounty Hunter in Ann Arbor on August 10th! How awesome is that Jackie - did you manage to get a photo of him with you? Or was it a mob scene? Would love to hear more - or even better post a photo if you got one! What Jackie mentions about the run-in with Dog the Bounty Hunter:
Dog the Bounty Hunter was at Border’s here in Ann Arbor last night and Jon loves that show, so for his birthday we braved the mob to get to meet him. It was so hot in there from all the people, so we look rough in the pics, but hey…it’s still pretty cool and I am so hot and tired these days I don’t care how crappy I look. :) I am ready to go home to the land of air conditioning!!
I have to admit that would be a dream of mine, to actually meet Dog the Bounty Hunter - you are so lucky!!! Awesome
