Tim Chapman arrested!

Ok… I had to read and then re-read this article about Tim Chapman and his arrest that was broadcast online on January 5th, 2008.
Over at the Aloha Update, Anthony writes the following:
For all of you who used to watch Dog the Bounty Hunter, Dog’s associate Tim Chapman, was caught at the Ala Moana Center in the Bank of Hawaii parking lot with his clothes off in his truck performing lewd acts. When witnesses contacted Ala Moana security, the security guard asked Tim to put on his clothes and get out of his truck.
Tim put on his clothes, then started his car, hopped a curb and almost hit the security guard. Now, Tim is charged on suspicion of attempted murder for almost hitting the security guard, and indecent exposure in a public area.What I didn’t know was that Tim had separated from his Samoan wife and had been living out of his truck.
When police went over to his Hawaii Kai home, they were told that information. But Brook Hart, Tim and Dog’s attorney, has said that this was an entire misunderstanding. Brook had stated that Tim spilled orange juice on his pants and was looking for a private place to change his pants. And when the security guard startled him, he panicked and drove away as fast as he can.
Oh sweet lord what is happening to this family. It doesn’t seem that anything lately has been going right for them and I can’t help but feel for them. I don’t know, I mean what on earth was Tim thinking… and why was he living out of his truck? You’d think he’d have made enough money to get an apartment or something - even after the split from his wife?

You are entitled to your opinion here, but I sense a little hostility… LOL. I don’t think that Beth is a fat pig. I think that being in the spotlight and seen on TV each week leaves the family open for it. I’m not surprised. I am surprised that Tim was “supposedly” living out of his truck. Really - that seems so odd.
… and no, I don’t think Beth kept the money.

To poster #1 –you are a very mean hearted person. Just because Beth is not a size 2- doesn’t mean you have the right to be so awful. And this isn’t about Beth.
I feel so very terrible for Tim. My heart just breaks. Remember when they were arrested by the US Marshalls-and were released-Davina called Dog and asked him to please start going on hunts again because Tim was changing so much. This was probably the same situation, That he just wanted to be left alone-so he just stayed in his truck.
I believe him. I don’t think he was being perverted.
I just hope everything turns out for him.

I was born and raised in Mililani and moved to Colorado Springs in 2005 where Dog and the family is a household name as well. As a matter of fact, I have been told that I live just a few streets down from Duane Lee Chapman II and frequents 2 local eating establishments in our neighborhood.
Let me start by stating my ethnicity here so people understand my perspective and my upbringing: I am Filipino, Portuguese and Polish. My father came to Hawaii from the Philippines when he was 8 years old. I am a deeply-rooted local girl.
I am starting with this because I really feel that local people in this blog is really coming out of left field here and is unnecessarily directing on ethnic commentary in all of this. As a transplant local, I am not offended when the family tries to talk “local”…I just view it as them adapting to better relate to the community. While I feel that the “local talk” constructs an uneducated view on the people in Hawaii- but it is a unique and distinctive part of our culture and the Chapman’s recognize this and utilize it to better assimilate to the local way of life.
I really don’t know where all the hostility from some of the local people in these comments is coming from. Is it resentment that a non-local made it big and is associated with Hawaii? Really, this attitude is what gives local people a bad name and paints a picture that local people are “closed minded” to outsiders. We are supposed to be known as a people of a welcoming and loving nature, but these comments are so disturbing because they are in fact bordering on racial insults. This is exactly what got Dog in trouble in the first place and what many of you condemn him for- but you are the doing the same by placing so much emphasis that the family is “haole” trying to act local. Don’t by hypocritical here. If Dog and the family were local, there would no discussion of this sort and certainly no comments as harsh as “fat pig”.
Let’s try to show that local people have some substance and not let ignorance talk for us by making unnecessary comments. Focus on the meat of the problem here. Yes, Dog made racial comments, but remember, this was in the privacy of his own home and was done to make a point to his son. This was not a racial comment that he did with the intention to hurt and demean another race in a public forum. I believe A&E went too far with cancelling the show due to this incident. Don Imus is back on the radio after making racial remarks, Michael Richards is making money hand over fist over increased sales with Seinfeld DVD’s and countless comedians are still out there working by making racial jokes. Everyone forgets that Dog has changed his life for the better and has helped people of many races. Now, with Tim…I have no clue with what happened here, but I am wondering if the reality of dealing with the loss of wealth and celebrity status has something to do his actions. The majority of us has never been in the spotlight and been scrutinized as the family has, so we have no idea what they are going through and what personal demons they are facing. We can only look to people like Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paul Reuben to get some sort of perspective on the behavior.
Dog, I hope you and the family is working on a deal with a cable network so that you can continue your work and get drugs and lowlifes off the street to sustain Hawaii as a paradise. I say a cable network so we don’t have to hear unnecessary censors, the reality of the situation should be played out in its entirety. Remember, Bill Maher was taken off of Comedy Central and ABC because of his remarks and opinions and is now living on stronger than ever on HBO.

I forgot to mention- take it as a compliment that the Chapman’s try to talk and act “local” and that they call Hawaii home.
To Bethisafatpig:….you should try to be more like the Chapman’s and try to act “local”. In my book- your views and heart are not a depiction of a true local. Since your obvious ignorance and imprudent comments does not paint you as an upstanding citizen, I would hate to see what would be uncovered with your life in the spotlight and the discussions that would follow. Wait, I highly doubt we need another crappy show on Television. Maybe your fame will come from the reality series COPS comes to film in Hawaii.

I feel sorry for the chapmans they are good people. I do’t think Beth is acting that is just who she is and I think BETHIASFATPIG is just jealous and she has issues. Honestly, this website should’ve limited this forum to people that, at the very least, know how to spell and have the capabilities to formulate a coherent thought and exhibit a shred of intelligence and decorum.

I thought I should step in here just to let you know why I let BETHISAFATPIG post here. I personally don’t agree. I also think that everyone is entitled to their opinion. BETHISA… hasn’t really backed up his/her arguement that well, and the commentors so far have totally got that. From the other site that this person has posted on - I personally think this is all to get us riled up.
Has it worked? Yup.
I think though, if anything it makes me more proud to run the site and know that there are people out there still support Duane, Beth, Tim right now in his most awkward situation - and know that even in the dark times there are people out there holding a light to show support.
We just need to let this one go. And get on with supporting the Chapmans.

I’m new to this website but i have read all the comments on here and i am just wondering why BETHISA. . . feels this way towards the Chapmans, have they offended you in some way shape or form? Personally even tho i’ve only seen the Chapmans on t.v i think they seem like lovely people. I hope they make a new series of Dog the bounty hunter, and i’m looking forward to it. I think you have hit the nail on the head BETHISAFATPIG. Why is he living in his truck and not with his “blood” brother Dog. I think once everything started to fall apart beth took everything away from them. Also while watching the show, beth has more say in the business than Dog (her money), he jumps when she says jump and he crawls when she says crawl. I truly believe that is why all of those men and women act the way they do around her (queen bee), because she has the money and they have to life with that issue. And she probably use it as a tool against everybody every time she gets mad.

I am glad to see that the posse will be back soon on tv. God Bless Dog, Beth, Tim, Leland, Duane Lee, and Baby Lyssa. They do Hawaii and all of us a favor by putting fugitves away. Maybe BETHISA was/is one of them, maybe thats why all the hate. Just remember that there is more Love for this Chapman Family then there ever will be hate.

This thing with Tim is mostly about a minimum wage security guard trying to get his 15 minutes of fame. Tim was changing clothes and nothing more. And Tim’s lawyer has pictures he presented in court that reportedly prove that Tim’s truck drove straight over the curb and did NOT veer to the side where the mall cop was allegedly standing. The guard’s lying folks. Straight & simple!

i am surprised that tim is not staying with the boys or with duane. they are all about family i am surprised they are not helping him out. there is got to be something more if his wife left him. ? he did nothing wrong but we need to let them work out their own problems. they wont say what is going on until they want people to know. but tim is in jail in hawaii.

Thanks Barbara for the information about Tim still being in jail. I had no idea - and definitely you’d think the family would be helping him out if it were innocent enough… but this does seem like a situation where everyone is giving their space from whatever has happened to Tim.
